For the Brisbane region, we are looking for a Service Technician (m/f/d).

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Service Technician to join our Spheros Australia across the greater Brisbane area. In this dynamic role, you will handle everything from end-to-end HVAC installations on brand-new bus builds to field diagnostics, scheduled maintenance, and emergency breakdown repairs across all major bus and coach brands.

Your Responsibilities

Diagnostics, Repairs & Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on all brands of bus and coach AC systems.

  • Diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults on 24V systems.

  • Perform precise refrigerant gas leak location, recovery, and repair.

  • Execute warranty repairs efficiently according to manufacturer guidelines.

Field Operations & Leadership

  • Respond to breakdown calls and carry out field repairs across the greater Brisbane region.

  • Provide high-level customer service and maintain professional communication on-site.

  • Mentor, guide, and train junior technicians and apprentices.

What We Are Looking For

Trade Qualifications: 

  • Relevant trade background (e.g., Automotive Air Conditioning Specialist, Auto Electrician, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic) with a valid ARCTick Refrigerant Handling Licence.

Technical Expertise: 

  • Demonstrated experience working on 24V heavy vehicle / bus and coach air conditioning systems.

  • Proven skill in pipe soldering, hose fabrication, and wiring loom assembly.

  • Strong diagnostic capability across electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration circuits.

Skills & Attributes: 

  • High attention to detail with a focus on safety and pre-commissioning accuracy.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Passion for mentoring fellow staff and training apprentices.

  • Licensing: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (MR or HR licence is highly regarded).
