Singapore Transformation Project Manager (Insurance)

Job Description

We are seeking a Transformation Project Manager to lead strategic business and technology transformation initiatives within the insurance sector. The role will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, driving business change, process optimisation, and technology implementation programs that support organisational goals and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, operations teams, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure transformation initiatives are delivered effectively, achieving measurable business outcomes while maintaining operational stability.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Programme & Project Delivery

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transformation programmes across business and technology functions.
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, resources, dependencies, and governance activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
• Track project progress and provide regular reporting to senior management and project sponsors.
• Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, implementing mitigation plans where required.

Business Transformation & Change Management

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify transformation opportunities and define target operating models.
• Drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and customer experience enhancement initiatives.
• Lead business readiness and change management activities to support successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Facilitate workshops, impact assessments, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Support organisational transformation, operating model redesign, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and external stakeholders.
• Act as the key liaison between business and project delivery teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare presentations, steering committee materials, and executive updates.
• Escalate issues and risks appropriately while driving timely resolutions.

Insurance Domain Delivery

• Support transformation initiatives across insurance business areas, including policy administration, claims, underwriting, distribution, customer servicing, finance, risk, and compliance functions.
• Ensure project outcomes align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with business SMEs to translate strategic objectives into actionable project deliverables.
• Support implementation of digital transformation, automation, data, and operational improvement initiatives.

Governance & Vendor Management

• Establish effective project governance frameworks and reporting structures.
• Manage third-party vendors, system integrators, consultants, and service providers.
• Monitor vendor performance and project deliverables against agreed commitments.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Information Technology, Insurance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience managing large-scale business transformation, digital transformation, or operational change programmes.
• Experience working within insurance, financial services, or regulated industries.
• Strong project management, governance, budgeting, and delivery management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and executive reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience in life insurance, general insurance, health insurance, or bancassurance environments.
• Knowledge of insurance operations, policy administration, claims, underwriting, or distribution processes.
• Experience delivering technology transformation, core system replacement, cloud migration, data, or automation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience leading business process reengineering and change management activities.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the insurance industry.
