About this role

Job Description Summary

As the Site Lean Leader, you'll be responsible for partnering with site leadership to drive Lean & Heartbeat (HB) deployment and strengthen continuous improvement capabilities across the Cork manufacturing site.

This role serves as a strategic member to the Site Leadership Team and is accountable for advancing Lean principles, Daily Management Systems (DMS), Problem Solving Process (PSP), Kaizen, VSM, Standard work and Leader standard work, capability development, and performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people outcomes.

The Site Lean Leader will coach leaders at all levels, facilitate the adoption of Lean & HB operating practices, and enable sustainable cultural and operational consistency through disciplined execution and leader engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Lean Leadership

  • Develop and execute the site's Lean strategy in alignment with business objectives and enterprise priorities.

  • Serve as a member of the extended Site Leadership Team, influencing operational and organizational decisions.

  • Establish a clear transformation roadmap that supports sustainable business performance.

  • Drive standardization and adoption of enterprise Lean practices across the site

Lean & Heartbeat & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities across manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions.

  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, value stream improvements, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.

  • Drive measurable improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, Productivity, and Employee Engagement.

  • Support business-critical performance recovery initiatives through structured Lean methodologies.

Capability Building & Coaching

  • Develop Lean capabilities across leadership teams, functional experts, and frontline employees.

  • Provide coaching in Lean leadership behaviours, problem solving, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Build internal capability to sustain improvements and reduce dependency on central support functions.

  • Facilitate Lean training programs and leadership development activities.

Governance & Performance Management

  • Establish governance mechanisms to monitor Lean progress.

  • Develop and maintain site-level improvement project portfolios.

  • Provide regular reporting on program effectiveness, business impact, and capability development progress.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise Lean standards, metrics, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Strong experience in Lean, Operational Excellence, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Continuous Improvement leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated success leading Lean transformations in complex manufacturing environments.

  • Proven experience implementing and sustaining Daily Management Systems.

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong expertise in Lean methodologies, including:

  • Kaizen

  • Value Stream Mapping

  • Standard Work

  • Visual Management

  • PSP

  • Root Cause Analysis

  • Leader Standard Work

  • Performance Management Systems

Desired Skilles

  • Experience within Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Healthcare, Biotechnology, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing site turnarounds, performance recovery programs, or large-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Experience working in matrixed, global organizations.

  • Familiarity with change management methodologies.

Scope & Impact

This role has site-wide responsibility for driving Lean and organizational capability building. The individual will influence leaders across Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and support functions while serving as the primary Lean partner to the Cork Site Leadership Team.
