KierBAM Joint Venture (KBJV) is a partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment; they are currently delivering a large-scale infrastructure development within Devonport Royal Dockyard.

As a Social Impact Advisor, you will be working within an award-winning Environment and Sustainability Team to drive social value and wider social impact commitments across the project. This will require regular visibility across the project and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to ensure social value is embedded in how we work. The Social Sustainability Advisor will be the main link between KBJV and our local communities, schools, colleges, and universities to ensure that our commitment to social value is evident.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

Making Possible

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility.  Your day to day will include:

• Represent KBJV at various events such as careers fair, community events, school engagements, industry events.
• Ensure accurate data collection across the project and record it via Thrive to achieve the project’s key performance indicators.
• Collaborating with the project team to encourage strategic social impact initiatives.
• Identifying strategic volunteering opportunities within the project area where we can enhance local environments and communities.
• Maintaining and building a stakeholder register of local organisations and groups that we can look to support to maximise our Social Value
• Delivering on the KBJV Social Value Plan.
• Maintain Social Value calendar to ensure a diverse variety of events are planned and coordinated, aligning to our Social Value Plan.
• Supporting departments with delivery of employment and skills and monitor their progression.
• Aid with the creation of case studies for PR and Marketing purposes.
• This profile is not exhaustive.  From time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities and, where necessary, training, and full support will be given.

What do you bring to the role?

• Previous experience of supporting or delivering social impact projects and driving social value outcomes, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, water, environmental or community-focused programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple activities.
• Ability to collaborate with and build relationships with a range of stakeholders, including operational teams, clients, supply chain partners and local community organisations.
• Passion for delivering social value in the communities where we work.

Desirable:

• Experience of employment service, job coaching, recruitment would be advantageous.
