This is a varied and fast-paced role supporting individuals with complex mental health needs while responding to safeguarding concerns and delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Managing a diverse caseload within an adult mental health setting, working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Conducting risk assessments and care planning, ensuring interventions are proportionate, strengths-based, and focused on improving outcomes.
  • Providing specialist safeguarding advice and guidance to a wide range of professionals across health, social care, and partner organisations.
  • Working collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory agencies, including police, community mental health teams, hospitals, substance misuse services, housing and homelessness services, care providers, CQC, and third-sector organisations.
  • Participating in and contributing to multi-agency risk management meetings, case conferences, and safeguarding forums.
  • Ensuring all decision-making, actions, and outcomes are clearly recorded, communicated effectively, and shared appropriately, including feedback to referrers where no further action is required.
  • Applying Making Safeguarding Personal principles, ensuring service users remain at the centre of all interventions.
  • Demonstrating professional curiosity, creativity, and flexibility, particularly when managing complex and high-risk situations.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.

  • Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Making Safeguarding Personal, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Skills: Highly developed risk assessment, analytical, and recording skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive information. Excellent communication and partnership-working abilities.
