Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional II

About your role:
At Fiserv, the VisionPLUS developer supports card processing and financial services delivery by enhancing and maintaining VisionPLUS applications in a mainframe environment. This role partners with technology and business teams to deliver functional and technical solutions across key VisionPLUS modules, with a preference for CMS and FAS. The position contributes to application stability, system performance, incident reduction, and successful project delivery across the software development lifecycle.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, install, support, and maintain VisionPLUS functional solutions, with emphasis on CMS and FAS modules.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs, program specifications, and production-ready solutions.
• Partner with engineers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement architectural direction and system enhancements.
• Support existing business systems applications and contribute to moderate to complex projects within the functional area.
• Analyze batch flows and system processes to improve performance, reduce complexity, and eliminate redundancy.
• Build, configure, upgrade, and test system environments based on user-defined requirements for test and production.
• Support storage and capacity planning activities for test and production environments.
• Manage major incidents with internal teams and stakeholders to improve service recovery times and reduce recurring production issues.
• Conduct testing, installation, and production implementation of application changes and provide required technical documentation.
• Communicate issue, incident, and project status with business and technology teams.

Experience you’ll need to have:

• 4+ years of experience in VisionPLUS functional and technical design, development, testing, and application support.
• 4+ years of experience in VisionPLUS modules, preferably CMS and FAS.
• 4+ years of experience in mainframe technologies including TSO, ISPF, COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
• 4+ years of experience in source control and reporting utilities such as Endevor and Easytrieve.
• 4+ years of experience in full software development lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, technical specification creation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• 4+ years of experience in batch job analysis, system performance tuning, and production incident support.
• 4+ years of experience in test environment build, system configuration, installation, and upgrade activities.
• 4+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

• Experience with network technologies such as SNA, Frame Relay, and TCP/IP.
• Experience supporting card management or issuer processing platforms in a fintech or banking environment.
• Experience working with storage and capacity planning for mainframe test and production environments.
• Experience collaborating with architects and infrastructure teams on platform modernization or system optimization initiatives.
• Experience communicating technical status, risks, and incident updates to business stakeholders.
