Software Engineer II, Google Search, Mobile Android

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of front-end experiences for the Android Search App by collaborating with cross-functional partners (PM, UX) on team projects.
• Implement features, writing high-quality, testable code with guidance and support from senior team members.
• Test assigned features across various environments (teamfood, dogfood, production) and assist in triaging product or system issues.
• Manage assigned work to meet deadlines, proactively communicating progress and escalating technical challenges.
• Leverage AI development tools to optimize daily workflows.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience with Android application development.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kotlin, Integration Testing, Experiment Design, Cross-Functional Collaboration.
• User-facing product development experience.
• Android/mobile experience preferred.
