Job Description

As a New College Graduate Software Engineer at Visa, you will join one of our technology organizations and work on impactful projects that shape the future of digital payments. Your assignment will align with your skills, interests, and team needs—giving you opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute from day one.

Some job duties and projects could include:

• Write optimized, secure, and scalable code following industry best practices (e.g., unit testing, code reviews).
• Develop solutions that support both product and technology objectives.
• Build end-to-end technology solutions addressing business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Diagnose and resolve software issues using root cause analysis.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field
• Graduating May 2026 - August 2027
• Less than 6 months of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, C#, .NET, JavaScript, Go).
• Familiarity with web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Experience with automation tools, REST APIs, and test frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS), databases (MySQL), or data visualization (Power BI).
• Understanding of Generative AI tools and concepts (framework usage, integration, prompt design).
• Knowledge of software engineering principles, testing, and version control.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and adapt to complex challenges.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills appropriate for professional settings.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary for a new hire into this position is $124,800 USD  which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.  Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
