Software Engineer Student, Virtual Platforms, Annapurna Labs

Annapurna Labs develops innovative hardware and software for AWS cloud customers. We build custom silicon and the software that powers the world's largest cloud provider, working with amazingly talented engineers in a dynamic, open, and fast-paced environment.

Our Virtual Platforms team plays a crucial role in accelerating development by enabling early software development, system-level testing, and architectural exploration — all without the constraints of physical prototypes. We build the simulation models and environments that let software teams start working long before real silicon arrives.

We are looking for a Software Development Student to join us part-time alongside your studies. You will work on real virtual platform models and environments used across the company, writing and testing code, debugging complex hardware-software interactions, and learning how large-scale platforms are designed and brought up from the ground up.

You will be paired with experienced engineers who will mentor you, review your code, and help you grow.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain simulation models of hardware components, integrate complex platform environments
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
- Debug and investigate complex hardware-software interactions
- Build tools and automation that improve the team's development and validation flow
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and silicon engineers across the group
- Available to work part-time (at least 2-3 days per week) alongside studies

Basic Qualifications

- B.Sc. student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years remaining until graduation. **Please include your academic transcript along with your resume in a single PDF file.

Preferred Qualifications

- Programming experience in C / C++
- Experience with Linux, embedded systems, or low-level programming
- Exposure to computer architecture, simulation/modeling, or hardware-software interfaces
- Demonstrated early adopter of AI-assisted development tools
