The Motorola Solutions Device Management team specializes in the fulfillment of world class software applications for managing fleets of end user two-way communications devices for public safety.

Job Description

This position is for a Software Engineering internship opportunity at Motorola Solutions in Plantation, Florida. The candidate will be responsible for developing and testing enterprise level, Windows based applications.

These are applications written in C#/.NET8/10/Framework4.8 on both the client & server side with WPF frameworks, with the addition of Java and SQL DB operations, and a roadmap directing it towards cloud & WEB services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Work in an Agile/Scrum team that analyzes, develops, designs, maintains, and tests software for the organization’s products and systems.
• Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
• Finding, tracking, and repairing device software defects
• Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.

Preferred Skills:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Familiar with C#/.NET on Windows platforms/C++/Java
• Experience in the following is a plus:
  • Database: SQL
  • UI: WPF
  • Data model: Entity Framework
  • System Communications: CoreWCF, REST, OpenSSL
  • Dev Environment: Visual Studio 2017 or greater
  • Code Source Repository: Git (BitBucket/GitHub)
  • Work Tracking: Jira (Atlassian)
  • Documentation: Google Suite, Confluence (Atlassian)
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Basic Requirements

• Candidate's Graduation date must occur on or after December 2027. 
• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in one of the following degree programs: Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
