Solar Energy Senior Project Manager In Salem

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage the planning, execution, and completion of solar energy projects in Salem and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing solar projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Execution:
  • Lead the end-to-end management of solar energy projects, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies to final handover to clients.
• Team Leadership:
  • Manage and supervise project engineers, site supervisors, contractors, and vendors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, procurement, construction) to ensure smooth project execution.
• Budget Management & Cost Control:
  • Develop project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.
• Stakeholder & Client Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their requirements are met.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, internal stakeholders, and management on project progress and any potential delays.
• Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including MNRE guidelines, TANGEDCO procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform quality checks on installations, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and mitigate project risks.
• Risk Management & Reporting:
  • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Regularly monitor project performance, identify potential issues, and take corrective actions as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 7-10+ years of experience in solar energy projects, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior project management role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale solar projects (rooftop, ground-mounted, or hybrid).
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and project management methodologies.
• PMP, PMU, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of local regulations and policies related to solar energy in Tamil Nadu.

Work Environment:

• Field-based role with regular site visits across Salem and surrounding areas.
• Flexibility to work outside standard office hours, including weekends if required.
• Ability to travel as needed for project monitoring and client meetings.
