Solicitor - Court of Protection (Welfare) - Remote / Wales - 3+ Years PQE
Location: Wales
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 + performance based bonus

A leading, award winning full service law firm is seeking an experienced Court of Protection (welfare) Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its highly successful and nationally recognised team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within one of the largest Legal Aid providers in Wales, with a Court of Protection practice ranked in Chambers & Partners for several years.

The Role
You'll be responsible for managing and growing a contentious Court of Protection caseload, including:

• Managing contested Mental Capacity Act 2005 matters before the Court of Protection
• Preparing and managing complex Legal Aid funding applications and privately funded litigation
• Providing strong advocacy and maintaining excellent relationships with specialist barristers
• Supporting departmental growth and contributing to business development initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency procedures and standards
• Delivering exceptional client care with empathy and professionalism, particularly when supporting vulnerable clients

Flexible working patterns are available, including nationwide remote working for candidates able to support the team's growth across England and Wales.

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with:

• A current Practising Certificate
• 3+ years PQE in Court of Protection (welfare) matters (flexible for strong candidates)
• Proven experience managing a contentious Court of Protection caseload
• Strong advocacy skills
• Excellent understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection practice and human rights legislation
• Strong working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency procedures and compliance
• A following or established reputation within the Court of Protection welfare space (advantageous)
• A compassionate, client focused and professional approach
