What you'll do

  • Reviewing alerts across both manual and automated workstreams
  • Identify and address a range of Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing concerns such as High-Risk client identification, identifying suspicious and unusual transaction patterns, and support other investigative tasks related to ML/TF risk mitigation

  • Support EAML FIU Triage management team in developing more junior investigators by actively sharing knowledge and investigative best practices
  • Research new and pending laws, regulations and industry commitments ensuring that relevant issues and organizational risks are identified
  • Provide timely and ongoing identification, risk assessment, and communication of changing regulatory requirements
  • Work with business management to establish an appropriate regulatory compliance culture and help the business to ensure that compliance risk and control processes are effective and cost-efficient
  • Consult, oversee and monitor resolution of complex or contentious regulatory compliance issues
  • Draft action plans to address non-compliance issues and provide recommendations

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of the Enterprise Anti Money Laundering (EAML) Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Triage team, where you’ll have a meaningful impact to by reviewing alerts across both manual and automated workstreams. You will identify and address a range of Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) concerns such as High-Risk client identification, identifying suspicious and unusual transaction patterns, and support other investigative tasks related to ML/TF risk mitigation. You will be required, as defined by the CIBC Client Risk Assessment Standard, to conduct an analysis of client relationships to assess and address the risks posed to CIBC by the clients, while complying with regulatory requirements. You will support EAML FIU Triage management team in developing more junior investigators by actively sharing knowledge and investigative best practices.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in consumer related regulatory/compliance requirements, policies, procedures and methodologies, sufficient to draft strategies and provide advice to business management in resolving regulatory compliance risks and issues. Knowledge of Anti-money Laundering and terrorist financing framework. You can also demonstrate experience in dealing with a wide variety of payments types and transactions types. You have excellent proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ SharePoint. It’s an asset if you have systems/application knowledge of COINS, ECIF, SWIFT, PRM, PostEdge, Worldcheck etc.
