If you feel like you're part of something bigger, it’s because you are. At Amgen, our shared mission—to serve patients—drives all that we do. It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies. We are global collaborators who achieve together—researching, manufacturing, and delivering ever-better products that reach over 10 million patients worldwide. It’s time for a career you can be proud of.

Sr Associate Tax

What you will do

As the Sr Associate Tax, you will report to the Transfer Pricing Manager and collaborate closely with the rest of the team on Amgen’s transfer pricing, tax provision, and compliance work.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who will assist in analyzing, implementing, and documenting Amgen’s transfer pricing planning, operations, reporting, and compliance processes.

You will be part of Amgen’s tax planning and transfer pricing group, working within a world-class tax department that provides global tax planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, and tax audit defense for the Company.

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world.

In this role, you will:

  • Support transfer pricing and planning initiatives, including financial data gathering, analyzing and modeling, drawing preliminary conclusions, and maintaining appropriate internal documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining and drafting intercompany agreements and managing the related SharePoint site.
  • Prepare Amgen’s transfer pricing models and relevant supporting tax calculations for use in quarterly reviews, annual budgets, and year-end reporting.
  • Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation to meet US and international local transfer pricing requirements, including preparing segmented financial reports, reviewing financial data tables, and liaising with Amgen’s tax service providers.
  • Assist with Irish corporation tax compliance and reporting, coordinating with tax service providers and in-house finance teams to complete necessary computations and filings.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under US GAAP, FRS102, or other applicable local statutory requirements for Irish-based subsidiaries.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties related to tax and transfer pricing as required.

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek has these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a Big Four firm or a corporate in-house tax department.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with financial data analysis and a solid understanding of economic, financial, and accounting concepts.
  • Experience with SAP and Tableau is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to organize files, project plans, and data.
  • Ability to manage workstreams efficiently and maintain communication with the Transfer Pricing Manager and other stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
  • A strong desire to develop and advance your career within the tax field.

What you can expect of us

As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, so we work to care for our teammates’ professional and personal growth and well-being. Therefore, Amgen is regularly recognized as a Best Place To Work ©.

  • Vast opportunities to learn and move up and across our global organization.
  • Diverse and inclusive community of belonging, where teammates are empowered to bring ideas to the table and act.
