About The Opportunity

The Senior Director of EHS is a visionary leader responsible for shaping and driving Menasha Packaging’s enterprise-wide EHS strategy. This role ensures a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace across all facilities by aligning EHS programs with business goals, regulatory requirements, and our company values. The Senior Director partners with senior leadership, site teams, and external stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture, reduce risk, and promote sustainability.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and lead the company-wide EHS strategy, ensuring alignment with operational priorities, regulatory compliance, and Menasha’s values.
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to site-level EHS teams, supporting consistent execution and continuous improvement across all locations.
• Establish and monitor enterprise safety performance metrics, using data to drive accountability, transparency, and informed decision-making.
• Champion a culture of safety ownership and engagement, empowering leaders and employees to take proactive roles in risk reduction and safe practices.
• Lead enterprise incident management and investigation protocols, ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and systemic corrective actions.
• Oversee regulatory compliance programs, including OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local requirements; ensure audit readiness and timely resolution of findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to assess EHS impacts of strategic initiatives, capital investments, and operational changes.
• Guide sustainability and environmental initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, etc.
• Mentor and develop EHS talent, fostering a high-performing, values-driven team culture.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging risks, integrating best practices and innovations into company programs.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, including leadership and team management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven success in leading multi-site or enterprise-level EHS programs.
• OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a passion for safety and sustainability.
• Deep knowledge of EHS regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Experience with data analytics, performance dashboards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Collaborative, values-driven approach to leadership and problem-solving.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Role involves regular travel to manufacturing and distribution sites across the region or country.
• Mix of office-based work and on-site engagement in production environments.
• Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and extended periods of walking or standing during site visits.
