What you'll do

  • Translate approved marketing strategy into coordinated plans, with clear deliverables, owners, milestones and dependencies across brand, creative, digital, retail and wholesale.
  • Maintain visibility into workload and resource constraints; recommend sequencing and tradeoffs, and surface the impact of new requests or changes before teams commit.
  • Own the master marketing calendar and campaign workbacks, incorporating channel lead times, creative development, production, approvals and launch-readiness checks.
  • Lead focused planning and status reviews, maintain decision and risk logs, and drive follow-through with accountable owners. Escalate issues that require leadership decisions.
  • Establish practical intake, briefing, approval and change-management processes in the team's project-management platform; support adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Analytics and channel owners to establish reporting requirements, consolidate performance updates and schedule reviews that translate findings into clear optimization actions.

  • Build reusable launch playbooks, operational documentation and asset-governance standards, partnering with Brand and Creative on approved content and library organization.

What they're looking for

  • 5-7 years in marketing operations, marketing program management, or a senior cross-functional coordination role, ideally in a consumer brand, DTC, or fast-paced e-commerce environment
  • Demonstrated ability to run complex, cross-functional marketing programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Hands-on experience building campaign workbacks and owning a master marketing calendar across channels with very different lead times
  • Experience designing intake, briefing, approval, and change-management processes in Wrike (or Asana, Monday, Jira) that teams adopted and kept using
  • Working knowledge of capacity and resource planning — you've maintained workload visibility and made sequencing recommendations leadership acted on
  • Comfort working in marketing dashboards and performance reporting: pulling what you need, sanity-checking it, and translating findings into optimization actions with channel owners
  • Experience coordinating vendor onboarding, contracts, purchase orders, and invoices alongside Finance and Legal
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing , Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Nice to have

  • You've built launch playbooks or operational documentation that outlived the campaign they were written for
  • You've run the operating cadence for a marketing leadership team: planning reviews, decision and risk logs, and follow-through that actually closed
  • You've operated across both DTC and wholesale or retail, and understand how differently their calendars and approval paths behave
  • You've partnered closely with brand and creative teams on approval workflows and asset governance
  • You've been the person who says “not this quarter” and made it stick without damaging the relationship
  • You've thrived in a fast-moving, high-change environment where the roadmap shifts and execution still has to be excellent

Job Summary

Purple is looking for a Sr. Manager of Marketing Operations who thrives at the intersection of planning and execution. Someone who can turn approved strategy into coordinated plans with clear deliverables, owners, milestones, and dependencies across brand, creative, digital, retail, and wholesale — and keep a high-output team moving without slowing it down.

This role sits at the center of our marketing organization. You'll report to the VP of Brand Management and work shoulder-to-shoulder with brand, creative, and demand gen leadership, plus partners across sales channels, Analytics, Finance, and Legal — sequencing work against real capacity and making sure what gets decided in the room actually gets delivered.

We move fast. Priorities shift. We're a publicly traded company that still operates with a startup engine, and this role is built for someone who doesn't just tolerate that reality, but is energized by it. You'll own the operating cadence, the workbacks, and the workflows that let everyone else spend less time chasing status and more time on the work that drives growth.

If you're the person who spots the calendar collision three weeks out, can say what a new request will cost the team before anyone commits to it, and builds the playbook before anyone asks for one, this was written for you.

Job Description

How you’ll shape the future of comfort:

What You'll Own

  • Integrated planning: Translate approved marketing strategy into coordinated plans, with clear deliverables, owners, milestones and dependencies across brand, creative, digital, retail and wholesale.

  • Capacity and prioritization: Maintain visibility into workload and resource constraints; recommend sequencing and tradeoffs, and surface the impact of new requests or changes before teams commit.

  • Campaign delivery: Own the master marketing calendar and campaign workbacks, incorporating channel lead times, creative development, production, approvals and launch-readiness checks.

  • Operating cadence: Lead focused planning and status reviews, maintain decision and risk logs, and drive follow-through with accountable owners. Escalate issues that require leadership decisions.

  • Workflow and systems: Establish practical intake, briefing, approval and change-management processes in the team's project-management platform; support adoption and continuous improvement.

  • Measurement coordination: Partner with Analytics and channel owners to establish reporting requirements, consolidate performance updates and schedule reviews that translate findings into clear optimization actions.

  • Vendor and financial operations: Coordinate vendor onboarding, contract review, purchase orders and invoices; track commitments and deliverables with Finance, Legal and marketing owners.

  • Foundations and knowledge management: Build reusable launch playbooks, operational documentation and asset-governance standards, partnering with Brand and Creative on approved content and library organization.

Who You Are

  • A planner at heart. You think in dependencies and lead times. Give you a launch date and you can work backward to what has to be true this week.

  • Proactive, not reactive. You anticipate what's needed before being asked. You see the collision coming, send the reminder, and build the process because someone has to and it might as well be done right.

  • Comfortable with change. Priorities shift here, sometimes overnight. You re-sequence quickly, reset without friction, and help the team do the same. Ambiguity is just part of the pace.

  • Diplomatically assertive. You can hold a deadline with a creative director and push back on a vendor timeline without burning the relationship. You know how to get things done through people you don't manage.

  • Clear-eyed about capacity. You know what the team can actually absorb, and you'd rather have the hard tradeoff conversation up front than watch three things ship late.

  • Fluent across channels. You understand enough about paid media, lifecycle, creative production, retail, and wholesale to translate between those teams, even if you haven't run those channels yourself.

  • A clear communicator. Whether it's a status review, a workback, a risk log, or a vendor brief, your communication is tight, actionable, and complete.
