About this role

 

LiveWire is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop motorcycle systems and components that deliver an unparalleled riding experience. This role is ideal for a motivated and passionate mechanical engineer that wants to work within a high performing team at our world-class development facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver the LiveWire vision through development of industry-leading chassis systems.
  • Exercise strong engineering fundamentals leveraging 3D CAD, simulation, analytical, and empirical methods to create designs optimized for performance, weight, cost, and quality.
  • Own mechanical systems and components from concept through production within the motorcycle chassis system, including but not limited to chassis structures, wheels/tires, bodywork and suspension.
  • Define, document, and manage mechanical requirements, DFMEA and validation plans to ensure robust designs and successful program execution.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to achieve seamless integration with the overall motorcycle and other motorcycle systems. 
  • Plan, support, and analyze component and system‑level testing using LiveWire’s world‑class labs and proving grounds to validate performance and reliability.
  • Partner with supply and manufacturing teams to support sourcing, design-for-cost, manufacturability, resolution of technical issues, and support production launch.
  • Influence, mentor, and inspire teammates to deliver great technical solutions. 

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • History of solving complex mechanical design problems in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Broad manufacturing process knowledge including casting, forging, stamping, welding, and injection molding.
  • Demonstrated skills in 3D CAD (Creo preferred), 2D Drawings, GD&T, DFMEA, and DVP&R.
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving in automotive and motorcycle applications. 
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely.
  • Position level dependent on experience. 

 

Pay Range: $74.900 - $145,000

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
