What you'll do

  • Contribute to and deliver on our vision for fully automated, scalable and highly available Kubernetes infrastructure to support the growth and innovation of the company
  • Manage the quarterly and annual planning, team objectives, individual goals, deliverables, hiring, development plans, and performance reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance for the Kubernetes platform and tooling and participate in architectural reviews with engineering leads.
  • Own availability, reliability and risk management for production systems at scale.
  • Incorporate best in class cloud native engineering practices and tooling, leverage and contribute to open source projects, and help the team deliver in house software and automation for our requirements
  • Manage and develop the India-based engineering team as an integral part of a globally distributed engineering organisation, maintaining close day-to-day collaboration with counterparts in Dublin/EMEA and partners in US and APAC regions.
  • Collaborate with peer teams on complex, global engineering efforts — building consensus on architecture, coordinating resources, and driving issues and timelines through to completion, even where the work spans multiple teams.

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • 12+ years of experience building production infrastructure and automation, including substantial hands-on experience with Linux, distributed systems, software development and containerisation technology. Experience building and operating Kubernetes is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years managing systems and software engineers, with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers and building teams that deliver.
  • Fluency with the components of modern cloud infrastructure including hyperscaler services, Kubernetes, cloud native networking & loadbalancing, service mesh, CI/CD & gitops tooling such as Terraform, ArgoCD, Crossplane
  • Prior experience in software development/engineering, release management, DevOps and managing large-scale server infrastructure in a 24/7 environment.
  • The ability to lead effective incident response for the platform, distil root causes and lessons learned, and drive the resulting improvements through to completion — whether the fix lives within the team or requires influencing other engineering groups.
