Job Description:

As a Network Administrator Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH. You will play a crucial role in improving the network infrastructure for wireless services on behalf of the Center for Information Technology (CIT).

• Lead/Manage/Support designs, projects, and expansion of wireless networks at NIH Bethesda campus and satellite offices within the DC-MD-VA area and nationally
• Collaborate with CIT federal team and other service areas as ONE CIT to serve NIH
  Drive to ensure the wireless network infrastructure and the associated internet and intranet services are available to scientists, researchers, patients, etc… with maximum uptime by responding quickly and thoroughly to incidents, requests, coverage issues, and sudden outages
• Utilize your experience of wireless infrastructure and following of evolving technologies and changing industry standards to develop solutions for a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and ever-changing enterprise federal environment that needs to remain compliant and secure but also not holding back scientific discovery and progress

Required Skills:

• Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree and at least 3+ years of Wireless Network Administration experience
  Knowledge of wireless network infrastructure, signal propagation, advanced troubleshooting wireless interference, optimizing coverage, spectrum analysis, etc.
• Solid understanding and comprehension of network protocols and switching, TCP/IP, FTP/HTTP(S), UDP, STP, VPN, etc. and able to provide technical root cause analysis or requirements summaries to the team and management using fundamental network terminologies
• Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting of network device gear such as CISCO routers, switches, wireless access points, uninterruptible power supplies, firewalls, etc.
• Experience activating and configuring CISCO switches, routers, NICs, LAN ports, etc.
• Experience diagnosing configuration issues using command line and prompts on the switch and or endpoint device
• Experience creating network and closet diagrams and able to decipher network topologies
• Experience using industry standard wireless network tools to perform wireless surveys, create designs, produce analysis reporting, etc.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
