We are actively hiring Software Development Engineer III (SDE III) talent across multiple Amazon businesses in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and Chennai.

Role Overview

As a Software Development Engineer III, you will:

Design and build highly scalable, reliable, and distributed software systems.
Own end-to-end technical solutions, from architecture and design through development, deployment, and operational excellence.
Partner with senior engineers, principal engineers, and technical leaders to solve complex engineering challenges.
Collaborate with product managers, cross-functional teams, and customers to build innovative, customer-centric solutions.
Drive technical excellence while contributing to the long-term architectural vision of the organization.
Mentor engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions using modern technologies.
Lead architectural discussions and influence technical strategy.
Build highly available and performant distributed systems.
Collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Continuously improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.
Champion engineering best practices, quality, automation, and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
