In this role, you will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance while developing innovative software solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working in a supportive, multi-functional environment, you will design and implement sophisticated solutions across our product portfolio, from cloud platforms to scientific instrumentation. You will support the growth of other engineers, drive adoption of best practices, and help shape the technical direction of critical projects. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies while contributing to groundbreaking scientific discoveries.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead .NET Engineer with 6–12 years of software development experience and strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-quality enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET 8, ASP.NET Core, WPF, REST API development, and Entity Framework Core, along with experience in modern build, deployment, testing, and development practices.

The candidate will be responsible for developing robust .NET-based applications and services, contributing to solution design, ensuring software quality and security, supporting modern engineering practices, and providing technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable applications and services using C#/.NET 8 and ASP.NET Core.
  • Develop and maintain desktop applications using WPF where required.
  • Design and develop secure, reliable, and well-structured RESTful APIs.
  • Develop efficient data-access layers using Entity Framework Core.
  • Define and promote application design principles, coding standards, and software engineering best practices.
  • Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable application components and services.
  • Ensure applications meet requirements for quality, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application, API, integration, and deployment-related issues.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development and secure-coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests using tools such as xUnit.
  • Use Swagger and Postman for API documentation, validation, and testing.
  • Support containerized application development and deployment using Docker.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and manage build artifacts through JFrog Artifactory.
  • Collaborate with developers, technical leads, product owners, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, solution reviews, estimation, planning, and implementation activities.
  • Work effectively within Agile Scrum and Kanban development environments.
  • Use collaboration and work-management platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Mentor and coach development team members and provide technical guidance where required.
  • Support teams in solving complex technical problems without compromising system quality or security.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and contribute across multiple projects where required.

Required Technical Skills

  • 6–12 years of overall software development experience, with significant experience in .NET application development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in C# and .NET 8.
  • Strong experience with ASP.NET Core application and service development.
  • Experience developing desktop applications using WPF.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience with Entity Framework Core for application persistence and data access.
  • Good understanding of application architecture, object-oriented programming, and reusable software design.
  • Strong understanding of application security and secure software development practices.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Experience using JFrog Artifactory for artifact management.
  • Experience with automated testing using xUnit.
  • Experience with API testing and documentation tools such as Swagger and Postman.
  • Experience with source control and modern software development practices.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence for work management and team collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience developing services using gRPC.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies including PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience using Helm for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and visualization tools such as Miro.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and adapting to changing technical and business priorities.
  • Exposure to modern cloud-native and distributed application environments.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
