What you'll build with us:

You'll architect and build global, large-scale products operating at thousands of requests per second, handling over 2 billion requests daily. You'll work alongside the top 5% of engineering talent in Australia on a vast cloud-native stack: AWS, microservices, large-scale distributed systems, NATS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, TypeScript, GraphQL and Node.js. Beyond the code, you'll provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and championing engineering excellence across the organisation.

The impact you'll make:

• Architect and design scalable, high-performance software solutions in alignment with project requirements and company standards.
• Optimise existing systems for performance, scalability and reliability, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Actively engage in hands-on coding and development, ensuring code quality, scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts and project updates.
• Provide technical leadership, guiding and mentoring junior engineers in the team.

Your track record:

• Extensive software engineering experience with a focus on scalable system design and development.
• Strong backend server development skills in a modern language such as Go, TypeScript or Python.
• Experience with Node.js, Docker, cloud services (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and related technologies.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration platforms (OpenShift, Nomad, Docker Swarm).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi or CloudFormation.
• Proven expertise building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like AWS CodePipeline or GitHub Actions.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and guiding teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication for collaborating across teams and stakeholders.

Bonus points if you also have:

• Familiarity with additional backend languages like Java or C#.
• Experience in gaming, entertainment or other high-traffic consumer platforms.
