LaBella is currently looking to hire an Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist in the Birmingham, AL office of our Waste & Recycling division. LaBella has over 1,900 employees in over 35 offices throughout 13 states. Our Birmingham office provides focused, technical environmental consulting services with the resources of a larger-sized firm. This is an opportunity for a smart and talented professional with enormous upside potential as part of a growing company.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to join a dynamic team working on technically engaging, and impactful projects. The successful candidate will perform field work including groundwater, soil, and surface water sampling, submit samples to a laboratory for analysis, manage and evaluate field and lab data, supervise contractors and drillers, and support the preparation of reports. This individual will also support project managers on various projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy a mix of office and field time.

  • B.S. degree in Geology or Environmental Science preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and carry or otherwise move up to 25 pounds
  • Move safely over uneven terrain.
  • Traverse steep and irregular terrain
  • Wear personal protective gear.
  • Drive a passenger vehicle (field truck).
  • Be comfortable with working outdoors, often in weather extremes (heat/cold/rain)
