What you'll do
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive strategies that reduce organizational and community vulnerability to severe weather events.
- Oversee mitigation initiatives designed to strengthen infrastructure resilience, enhance preparedness, and minimize operational disruptions before, during, and after storms.
- Provide executive-level direction for statewide mitigation and resilience initiatives.
- Develop program strategies, policies, operating frameworks, and implementation plans.
- Establish measurable program goals, performance standards, and accountability systems.
- Identify opportunities to expand and improve mitigation programs based on emerging risks, research, and program performance.
- Ensure programs remain aligned with legislative mandates, state priorities, and applicable federal requirements.
- Direct financial assistance and grant programs with substantial annual operating budgets.
- Develop and oversee program budgets, financial controls, funding strategies, and expenditure plans.
- Establish processes for eligibility, application review, award administration, project monitoring, compliance, and closeout.
- Monitor program performance and financial outcomes and provide regular reports to executive leadership and oversight entities.
- Establish partnerships among government, insurance, construction, financial, academic, nonprofit, and community organizations.

Under supervision, the Storm Mitigation Program Manager leads the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive strategies that reduce organizational and community vulnerability to severe weather events. This role oversees mitigation initiatives designed to strengthen infrastructure resilience, enhance preparedness, and minimize operational disruptions before, during, and after storms. This position reports to the Director of Legislative Affairs.
Provide executive-level direction for statewide mitigation and resilience initiatives.
Develop program strategies, policies, operating frameworks, and implementation plans.
Establish measurable program goals, performance standards, and accountability systems.
Identify opportunities to expand and improve mitigation programs based on emerging risks, research, and program performance.
Ensure programs remain aligned with legislative mandates, state priorities, and applicable federal requirements.
Direct financial assistance and grant programs with substantial annual operating budgets.
Develop and oversee program budgets, financial controls, funding strategies, and expenditure plans.

Evaluate risk data, loss information, mitigation research, and economic analyses to support program decisions.
Translate technical and financial information into actionable recommendations for executive team.
Promote policies and programs that connect mitigation, insurance, building practices, consumer behavior, and community resilience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred:
