About Operations Strategy & Business Resilience

Operations Strategy & Business Resilience (OSBR) is a diverse internal management consulting arm of Operations that serves as trusted advisors to the company’s leaders in transformational and critical matters at the business perimeter. OSBR’s portfolio of work is comprised of Business Resilience and Intelligence (BR&I), identifies internal and external risks that can lead to business disruption; Drug Substance (DS) and Drug Product (DP) Network Strategy, develops and progresses Amgen’s manufacturing network strategy to meet business goals; Finished Drug Product (FDP) and Integrated Supply Strategy, partners with the FDP manufacturing network, quality, engineering, external supply and global logistics in developing the necessary set of actions to meet the Operation’s strategic business objectives; Commercialization and Transformation, strategizes commercial and pipeline program expertise, leads transformational operations, and drives business for new technologies and processes in collaboration with Process Development and other functions; Strategy Management, Analytics, Business Development (BD), and Governance, fosters innovation by integrating robust operational strategies, business development opportunities, analytics, and governance to enhance decision-making and achieve operational goals. About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the Strategic Resource Planning Senior Associate – Network Analytics role to join Amgen India (AIN). This role will be an integral member of a high-performing global OSBR team chartered to deliver comprehensive analytics that support unbiased recommendations and value creation for Amgen Operations.

The Senior Associate will focus on analytics execution in support of the Network Strategy team, with emphasis on manufacturing capacity analysis, long-range scenario modeling, and strategic horizon assessments using OSBR’s Smart Capacity tool. The role will partner primarily with the Manager and global OSBR colleagues to ensure timely delivery of high-quality analysis using the correct supply requirements, manufacturing capacity parameters, assumptions, and business context.

This individual will be responsible for performing the analysis, validating inputs, documenting assumptions, extracting insights, and translating complex capacity and scenario analysis into clear, executive-ready communication materials. The role requires strong analytical rigor, structured problem solving, curiosity to deeply understand Amgen’s internal manufacturing network, and the ability to work effectively with global teams across time zones.

Over time, the Senior Associate will develop familiarity with Amgen’s manufacturing network hot spots, capacity utilization methodology, site-level operating parameters, and opportunities that may inform network investments, rebalancing decisions, externalization opportunities, and other strategic actions.

Because this role works closely with Amgen’s California headquarters, the Senior Associate is expected to maintain flexible working hours that provide meaningful overlap with the California-based team, typically from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support advancement of Operations strategy through analytics for Amgen’s manufacturing network, with focus on strategic horizon assessments, typically 5-9 years of experience, across drug substance, drug product, finished drug product, and related network areas.
  • Perform capacity analysis and scenario modeling using OSBR’s Smart Capacity tool to evaluate manufacturing capacity utilization, network hot spots, long-range business needs, and associated trade-o
  • ffs. Own execution of assigned analyses, including data gathering, input validation, model running, output review, assumption documentation, insight generation, and preparation of supporting materials.
  • Ensure analyses are accurate, documented, reproducible, and based on approved assumptions, supply requirements, manufacturing capacity parameters, and business context.
  • Understand and apply Amgen’s capacity utilization methodology, including how supply requirements, operating assumptions, site parameters, and network constraints inform capacity outlooks.
  • Manage and validate complex data inputs, with emphasis on the two key inputs for capacity analysis: supply requirements and capacity parameters from manufacturing sites.
  • Extract insights from complex modeling outputs and translate them into clear implications, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for review by the manager and global OSBR team.
  • Transform complex analyses into executive-ready communication materials, including PowerPoint presentations, dashboards, visualizations, and decision-support materials.
  • Partner with the manager, global team members, and overtime manufacturing sites to clarify assumptions, pressure-test scenarios, identify analytical gaps, and support problem solving related to capacity constraints or network opportunities.
  • Identify data gaps, assumption issues, analytical risks, quality concerns, or timeline concerns early; flag them to the manager and contribute to improved templates, documentation, data structures, and ways of working.
