What you'll do

  • Effectively manage and lead the SWS teams in the conduct of the shipyard installation and test of the SWS
  • Lead complex problem-solving efforts to ensure PAESSP requirements are met and the SWS is properly installed and tested during SSBN construction
  • Provide detailed knowledge of the SWS, SSP test and evaluation, systems engineering, and continuous process improvement
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in design reviews, trade studies, and other technical meetings
  • Act as a technical liaison between PAESSP, Electric Boat, contractors, and field activities to accomplish installation and test activities
  • Plan, attend and participate in planning, status meetings, conferences, and communicate key events and milestones as needed
  • Lead shipyard installation testing efforts and manage the SWS test program execution
  • Format specifications, directives, and correspondence in accordance with Navy manual

JRC is actively recruiting a Strategic Weapons Systems Project Officer to join our team in Groton, CT. This position reports to JRC’s Systems Engineering and Integration Division. The Project Officer will work closely with US Navy government personnel at the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Strategic Systems Programs (PAESSP) – Electric Boat Office. This position will interface and engage with PAESSP Branches, Electric Boat, NAVSEA, and other SSP contractors to support the COLUMBIA Class submarine construction and test. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent years of work experience.
