Subiaco Senior Finance Business Partner WA

Northern Star Surface Mining (NSSM) is the newly established surface mining division of Northern Star Resources.As we continue to build our in-house mining capability, we're looking for an experienced Finance Manager – Assets & Maintenance to join our Corporate Office in Subiaco. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the commercial and financial performance of our maintenance and mobile equipment portfolio.

Reporting to the Group Manager Finance – Mining Services, you will provide financial, commercial and analytical leadership across our maintenance and fleet operations, combining financial analysis with maintenance and operational data to understand what really drives equipment cost and performance.

You'll work closely with Maintenance, Asset Management, Mining Operations and Planning to move beyond traditional financial reporting, delivering forward-looking insights, scenarios and recommendations that support better fleet, maintenance and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial analysis of maintenance expenditure across the mobile equipment fleet.
• Analyse equipment availability, utilisation, reliability, and quantify their financial impact.
• Develop and maintain asset life financial models to support repair, rebuild, replace and life-extension decisions.
• Lead dynamic maintenance cost forecasting and scenario modelling in response to changing mining and operating conditions.
• Integrate maintenance plans into annual budgets, forecasts and long-term plans, and monitor performance against them.
• Provide commercial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership, including business cases for equipment acquisition, replacement and major maintenance events.
• Partner closely with Maintenance and Asset Management teams, providing independent financial insight and constructive challenge on plans, budgets and forecasts.

About You

You'll be a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations and translating complex maintenance and equipment data into clear financial insight. To be successful you will need:

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business analysis or a related discipline within mining, resources or another asset-intensive environment.
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and scenario-analysis capability.
• Demonstrated experience translating operational and maintenance data into financial insights.
• Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to work across large, complex datasets and BI platforms such as Power BI.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence and constructively challenge operational and senior leaders.
• Highly regarded: experience in open-pit mining or mobile equipment maintenance, understanding of maintenance/reliability metrics, & equipment lifecycle costing.
