What You’ll Do

Performs a wide range of complex analytical support functions. Apply analytical skills to provide high quality work products to support calling efforts of Asset Backed Finance deal team members in the originations process.

The ABL intern works with the originations, underwriting and portfolio teams to support the overall execution process for asset-based lending transactions at Fifth Third Bank. The ABL team is responsible for pitching, structuring, and executing ABL and managing solutions across the entire Fifth Third Commercial Bank platform.

Focused on supporting all aspects of originations, underwriting and portfolio management execution including originations support, deal screening, credit review/monitoring, loan approval preparation and presentation to credit teams, funding and operations and loan system setup and administration

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to find, research and assess financial information
• Develop understanding of pitching, structuring, monitoring and executing ABL transactions to targeted Fifth Third clients
• Support day-to-day coverage, origination, and transaction management responsibilities for existing and prospective clients including covered Sponsors
• Develop familiarity with broad economic and market trends
• Support underwriting approval and loan closing processes including loan systems setup and administration and preparation of presentation materials for credit approval
• Preparation of pitch materials and market updates for client meetings
• Work with ABL group, in addition to other corporate banking groups on deal team presentations
• Apply knowledge of credit analysis, asset-based lending and capital markets activity

Required Knowledge and Skills 

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree with strong financial or business background 
• Graduation date between December 2027 - May 2028 ONLY
• Minimum 3.3 GPA required 
• Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
• Strong analytical skills and an interest in financial analysis, corporate finance and financial markets 

• Good working knowledge of financial modeling and valuation 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to draw conclusions based on financial data
• Process orientation and attention to detail

We offer a competitive base salary that is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the US. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location.

Total Base Pay Range 43,680.00 - 67,700.00 USD Annual
