Summer Intern – Firmware Engineer (Advanced Development)

The Summer Intern – Firmware Engineer is responsible for supporting the development of embedded firmware solutions for electronic access control and security products. As a Summer Intern – Firmware Engineer, you will work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of more than 12,000 employees representing over 30 brands, including Schlage, Von Duprin, and LCN.

You will gain hands-on experience defining and scoping firmware requirements, designing and documenting system architecture, developing and testing embedded software, and integrating firmware into larger modular systems. Additional responsibilities include learning about electronic locking systems and access control solutions, participating in design and code reviews, and contributing to innovative products that enable seamless access while helping keep people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive. This role provides meaningful project work, learning opportunities, professional development, and the opportunity to build strong relationships with peers and leaders across the organization.
