What you'll do

  • Develop and implement supplier quality management system.
  • Supervises and provide guidance to the supplier quality engineers, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances, defects, claim, and customer complaints.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, introduce new supplier/material, review and approve supplier engineering change, do first article inspection.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to investigate material related quality issues and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster continuous improvement.
  • Assume responsibility for technical responses to suppliers on quality issues; lead investigations and drive corrective actions.
  • Liaise with Suppliers during visits, conduct process/system audits.
  • Track and resolve open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer/Supplier required quality documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions related to supplier quality.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of 4 years) or equivalent years of education; Special consideration given to Quality Accreditation’s (AQC/AIAG) and technical courses completed (Auditor, etc.)
  • Proven experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process/product quality control, lean manufacturing.
  • Good current working knowledge of AIAG standards (PQP, PPAP & PFMEA, Cpk, SPC, 8D )
  • Strong Knowledge in SAP system or other related software applications
  • Quality Control background, including problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Professional demeanour at all times
  • Strong leadership abilities and confident, consistent, decisive personality
  • Must be able to work with little supervision, must be self-directed.
  • Attention to detail in all area of work
  • Desire for innovative thinking and continual learning
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, mediating and negotiating skills.

Position Title: Supplier Quality Supervisor

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Manager

Description:

The Supplier Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the supplier quality managing to ensure that products and components sourced from suppliers meet the company's quality standards and specifications. The supervisor will lead a team and collaborate closely with other departments and suppliers to develop and maintain robust quality systems, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement supplier quality management system.

· Supervises and provide guidance to the supplier quality engineers, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and conducting regular performance evaluations.

· Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances, defects, claim, and customer complaints.

· Evaluate supplier performance, introduce new supplier/material, review and approve supplier engineering change, do first article inspection.

· Lead cross-functional teams to investigate material related quality issues and drive solutions.

· Support ISO 9001 activities

· Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies.

· Conduct other duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Working Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing facility and office environment and may require interaction with employees, contractors, visitors, and leadership teams across multiple functions.
