Job Description

Lighthouse Electric provides Interns an opportunity to actively engage in real projects within various departments of the company, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in the construction field.

Who you are: 

pursing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Project Management, or related degree.  You enjoy solving problems, working in a fast paced environment, and learning new things.  You bring strong communication skills and enjoy getting to the root of problems and using data to help inform decisions.   

What We Are Looking For

A Purchasing/Supply Chain Intern eager to gain hands-on experience and contribute to a high-performing supply chain team. This 12-week internship begins at the conclusion of the spring semester and runs Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. 

• A foundational understanding of procurement processes, purchase orders, and vendor management.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• The ability to assist Purchasing and Supply Chain Managers with:

  • Creating and tracking purchase orders.

  • Communicating with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.

  • Coordinating material deliveries to job sites and warehouses.

  • Supporting RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes and bid evaluations.

  • Maintaining accurate records of purchases and supplier performance.

  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel to job sites or supplier locations within a 3-hour radius of the Pittsburgh area.

Duration of Internship & Expected Work Hours:

Anticipated Start Date: May 17th, 2027.

8-12 Weeks

Location: Canonsburg Office (In Office Internship/No Remote)
