Job Summary

The Master Scheduler is responsible for establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in alignment with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) consensus plan. This role works closely with Operations, Material Planning, Customer Service, and Commercial teams to develop supply plans that optimize revenue performance, inventory investment, and customer service.

The role serves as a key contributor to supply chain analytics, inventory optimization, and planning data governance, leveraging advanced reporting and AI-enabled decision-support tools to drive proactive planning decisions. The Master Scheduler is responsible for maintaining item master planning data, implementing and sustaining stocking strategies in line with global standard work, monitoring inventory and service metrics, and partnering with Material Planners to improve revenue attainment, inventory productivity, and First Pass Service Level (FPSL).

 

Responsibilities

  • Translate the monthly SIOP consensus plan into a detailed Master Production Schedule (MPS) with a 12–18-month planning horizon, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and customer requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize stocking strategies for assigned product portfolios in accordance with global standard work, balancing service expectations, inventory investment, and business growth objectives.
  • Maintain data integrity and governance of planning-related item master data, including lead times, safety stocks, planning parameters, lot sizes, replenishment settings and sourcing accuracy within ERP systems.
  • Partner with Material Planners to improve First Pass Service Level (FPSL), inventory availability, and material flow while supporting revenue optimization initiatives and minimizing supply chain risk.
  • Create, automate, and continuously enhance supply chain reporting and dashboards, utilizing advanced analytics and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, forecast risks, improve decision-making, and support operational excellence.
  • Develop, monitor and analyse key performance indicators including service levels, FPSL, inventory turns, backlog, schedule attainment, forecast accuracy, excess and obsolete inventory, capacity utilization, and revenue fulfilment.
  • Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ERP planning processes, MRP execution, exception management, planning analytics, and scheduling best practices, including the training and development of stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis, constraint identification, scenario modelling, and cross-functional collaboration to improve service, inventory productivity, planning effectiveness, and overall supply chain performance.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, supply planning, inventory management, or supply chain analytics.
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred; candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it within 18 months of employment.

 

  • Experience managing ERP planning systems, MRP processes, item master data, and inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Experience developing reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics using business intelligence and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, or equivalent).
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled analytical tools and digital technologies to improve planning effectiveness and business decision-making preferred.

 

  • Proven experience driving service level improvements, inventory optimization, and cross-functional supply chain performance initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to transform complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Experience utilizing advanced reporting, visualization, and analytics tools (Power BI, Qlik, Snowflake, Excel Power Query, AI-enabled analytics platforms, or similar).
  • Ability to leverage AI and digital tools to support planning decisions, improve reporting efficiency, and identify supply chain optimization opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, stocking strategy development, service level optimization, and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited information while balancing customer service, inventory, capacity, and financial objectives.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and Customer Service functions.
  • Highly proficient in ERP (Oracle R12) systems, MRP processes, planning data governance, and master data management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support, train and influence teams across multiple organizational levels.
