About the Role

 

This is an opportunity to help shape and strengthen Evolution’s enterprise risk management framework, governance and risk culture.

 

Reporting to the Group Manager Risk & Improvement, you'll work closely with group and operational leaders and site-based risk teams to enhance critical control management, build risk capability and identify opportunities to improve risk systems, processes and performance across our operations.

 

This role goes beyond compliance. You'll spend time on site working alongside operational teams, facilitating group risk reviews, analysing risk trends, and helping sites translate lessons learned into practical improvements that improve risk management and support safer, more effective outcomes.

 

Based in Sydney, the role includes travel to our domestic operations as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Facilitate group risk reviews, risk assessments and critical control effectiveness reviews
• Support the ongoing improvement of Evolution's risk management framework, systems and tools
• Analyse incident trends and performance data to identify improvement opportunities
• Partner with site teams to strengthen risk capability and control effectiveness
• Support sites in understanding risk obligations, ICMM principles and industry best practice
• Deliver training and guidance to risk owners and operational stakeholders
• Contribute to executive, board and audit & risk committee reporting

 

 

About You

 

You understand mining operations and the realities of managing risk in a complex operational environment.

 

You may come from operational risk, safety, engineering, operational excellence, technical services or a similar discipline and enjoy working directly with stakeholders to influence outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

 

Your experience will include:

 

• Experience within mining, ideally underground metalliferous operations (coal and other mining experience will also be highly regarded)
• Knowledge of enterprise risk management and critical control management
• Understanding of risk frameworks, governance requirements and industry leading practices
• Experience facilitating risk assessments and engaging operational stakeholders
• Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Advanced user of MS Word, Excel, and Copilot (or similar)
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Qualifications in risk management, engineering, occupational health & safety or a related discipline
