System Admin/Database Admin (DBA)

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a System Admin/Database Admin (DBA) to support Department of War Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with defensive cyberspace operations and AI support. In this role, you will administer systems and databases supporting DCDC analytic platforms, ensuring availability, security, and performance.

 

Location: Fort Meade, MD. 

 

Tasks include: 

• Administer Linux/Windows systems
• Manage databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Perform routine backups and recovery
• Maintain system security and patching
• Monitor logs for errors and intrusions
• Support system scalability requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Will consider Associates degree with 10 years of experience, or HS with 12 years of experience.

• Strong Linux/Windows administration

• Database administration experience

• Backup and recovery procedures

• Security hardening knowledge

• Scripting skills (SQL, Bash, PowerShell)

• Must obtain an IA certification such as CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or CCSP within 60 days of hire.
• U.S. Citizenship required
• DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Linux certifications and/or database certifications
• 8 years of specific experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• IA certification such as CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or CCSP

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
