Job Description:

Systems Administrator

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for System Administrator to support U.S. Army Europe in Wiesbaden Germany.

The System Administrator will be responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer support, responding to, tracking, and following-up on telephone, e-mail, and team member requests for support. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for the continuous review open service requests, prioritizing them based on customer mission requirements, and ensuring that issues are closed to the satisfaction of the customer. Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.


MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:


As a Systems Administrator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in mission command support.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, and/or systems hardware and software.

  • Monitor all installed Information Technology Systems and infrastructure, as well as installs, configures, tests and performs routine maintenance on operating systems, application software and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

  • Troubleshoot system related problems.

  • Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.

  • Enter support requests and track issues in the designated issue management system and triage requests.

  • Experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, SQL, SCCM, and Active Directory. 

  • Assist and support the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solutions.

  • Develops technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.

  • Provide support to end users on a variety of issues including office automation software, scanning, printing, file recovery, user account management, and password resets.

  • Perform cable management to add, move, install, and troubleshoot issues at user workstations and within data center areas.

  • Provide management of Active Directory Organizational Unit’s to ensure compliance with organization policy.

  • Manage and coordinate executive Video Teleconference meetings and their associated scheduling system.

  • Maintain VTC equipment.

  • Responsible for being on-call 24 hours a day and coordinating leave and absence to ensure coverage.

  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented and organized.

  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems.

  • Education: BS/BA in information technology or related industry training in performing systems administration support is preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience

  • Security clearance level: Top Secret Clearance

  • Role requirements: Relevant and related military or government experience performing systems administration support is desired.

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
