What you'll do

  • Manage a significant operational area for the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans; forecast performance against business key performance indicators; develop business cases for key activities/projects; and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.
  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
  • Monitor and review performance against HS&E KPIs, and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility; Take action improve performance and to resolve non-compliance with the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions.
  • Develop monthly and annual production plans for multiple factories across the business with dependencies on other processes/units to include resource planning and monitoring and reporting on performance against the plan. Provide input to the overall production planning framework and systems.
  • Identify shortcomings in existing manufacturing processes, systems, and procedures; suggest and implement improvements; and develop and deliver larger improvement projects with guidance from senior colleagues.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP operations and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, including the ability to apply applicable standards, procedures and quality requirements to facility and operational decision-making.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and manage significant resources and budgets, balancing short-, medium- and long-term priorities while delivering against aggressive timelines and business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, safe systems of work, quality requirements and compliance, with the ability to integrate safety and quality considerations into operational planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated strategic problem-solving and continuous improvement capability, with the confidence to ask the right questions, identify root causes and implement solutions that eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Proven people leadership and organizational development skills, including the ability to lead through change, develop talent, build accountability and foster a culture of safety, quality, learning and performance.

Manages and directs directing all manufacturing activities a plant or production process, including production, materials, quality control, and manufacturing engineering, to produce products in the most cost-effective way, while meeting shipping requirements and sales commitments. Plant may be a stand-alone facility or a relatively independent unit within a larger site.
