What you'll do

  • Prepares and assists with filing federal and state tax returns for partnerships, private foundation, trust and individuals.
  • Prepares K-1 activity journal entries and year-end closing entries; preparation of journal entries related to tax accounting; and preparation of monthly partnership accounting for investment partnerships.
  • Accurately prepares quarterly estimates and annual tax reports.
  • Reconciles federal and state tax accounts and prepares journal entries.
  • Calculates and prepares Texas Gross Margin Tax for inclusion in annual tax provision for audit, annual tax return filings and reconciliation of state tax accounts.
  • Develops inter-department relationships and interface with personnel to ensure that tax information acquired from other departments is accurate and timely.
  • Assists in responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
  • Works in a team environment to ensure accurate and timely completion of all Federal, State and local tax filings.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Researches technical tax issues and compose memorandums to document analysis.
  • Keeps up to date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications.

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to assist with the federal and state compliance for the SWBC Enterprises Group, including Real Estate Development entities, SWBC Foundation; and SWBC Owners and their family members.

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Accounting or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of public or corporate tax experience.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
