Job Description

Teacher – Social Studies - Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and assessments as per curriculum.
  • Use interactive teaching methods, including maps, charts and experiential learning.
  • Support students in developing analytical, interpretive, and geographical skills.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Support and mentor students with learning gaps or special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents for integrated learning.
  • Participate in training, workshops, and staff meetings for professional growth.
  • Maintain student records, discipline, and adherence to school policies.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, Checkpoint exams (if applicable), and school-based evaluations.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in social sciences (History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, or related fields), B.Ed. (preferred)
  • Strong conceptual understanding.
  • Good communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to design engaging lesson plans and creative teaching aids.
  • Patience, empathy, and ability to handle diverse learners.
  • Collaborative mindset to work with peers, coordinators, and parents.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, digital tools for teaching).
  • Prior teaching experience of 2 to 4 yrs at school level preferred.
