TEAM LEAD, OPERATIONS

Origin, through its ownership of three storage companies, including Central Filing, Guardian and Vault, is the island's premier provider of document storage solutions, document destruction and recycling solutions, self-storage, and IT waste and recycling services.

 

We are seeking applicants for the post of Team Lead, Operations. This is a hybrid role, combining direct oversight of field personnel with responsibility for the operations function as a whole. The successful candidate will be an astute, proven professional with well-developed people and process leadership skills, responsible for the direct and indirect supervision of employees across multiple units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees daily activities of the operations to maximize scheduling and utilization of part-time and full-time team members; makes necessary changes and recommendations as required.
• Oversees, manages and monitors the flow of all operating processes to ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner.
• Enacts contingency plans as needed; escalates and directs activities during systems problems and disasters.
• Reviews ongoing performance results against targets and takes corrective measures with authorization, escalating as needed.
• Participates in all daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning processes.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner, in accordance with established company policies and client service level agreements (SLAs), to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
• Maintains favorable working relationships with all team members to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and effectiveness.
• Projects a favorable image of the company's brand to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance.
• Communicates areas of accountability and expected performance, and determines standards of performance as a basis for reviewing progress.
• Recommends and executes transfers, promotions and dismissals.
• Plays an active role in succession planning.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• At least five years of relevant experience. Management or supervisory level experience is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in a warehouse, inventory control and/or logistics related business, will be an asset
• Exemplary leadership skills, with the ability to earn the respect of the team.
• Highly confidential, with the ability to serve as an objective leader.
• Impeccable oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and accurately to influence improvements and changes.
• Business process and procedural documentation skills.
• A basic knowledge and understanding of project management.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet strict timelines, multi-task and work under pressure.
• Ability to manage people effectively by motivating, developing and directing team members, and to identify the best people for each role.
• Ability to use logical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to solving problems.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to accept accountability for both good and bad outcomes.
• Extraordinary observation skills and a keen eye for detail.
