About this role

As a Tech Risk Assurance Lead at JPMorganChase within Cybersecurity Technology & Controls, you will help ensure the security and resilience of our systems and data. You will focus on the identification, analysis, and management of technology and cyber operational risks firmwide, leveraging your expertise in technology risk and controls to identify, assess, and manage risks across systems, evaluate control effectiveness, and ensure alignment with risk and regulatory standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-product and functional teams, stay abreast of the latest developments in technology, and implement innovative solutions that enhance the organization's risk posture.

 Job responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to firmwide technology risk assessments across applications, infrastructure, and platforms, applying established control and assessment methodologies.
  • Ensure effective identification, quantification, communication, and management of technology risk, focusing on root cause analysis and resolution recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships, becoming a trusted partner with key stakeholders such as LOB BISO’s, assessments teams, and Control Domain owners, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of risk assessments, findings, and recommendations, ensuring accuracy and accessibility, and support findings formalization and tracking to closure.
  • Proactively monitor and evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and advance analytics-driven assurance approaches for risk identification, risk prioritization, mitigation planning, and control assessment.
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate synthesis of risk/control evidence and draft executive-ready reporting, validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or a related field, emphasizing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Strong familiarity with technology systems and cyber/technology risk management activities, including control effectiveness assessments, reporting, and mitigation tracking, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business impacts.
  • Technical proficiency in AI risk governance and data security, securing platforms, applications, and business processes with understanding of AI threats, mitigations, and defense mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support technology risk and controls workflows — validating AI-assisted summaries and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain, and ensuring alignment to security, auditability, data sensitivity, and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience applying data analytics and data-driven approaches to risk identification, control testing, and assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategic decision-making and translate technology insights into business strategy for senior executives.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized risk and security certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Experience presenting risk findings or narratives in governance or senior stakeholder forums.
