Job Description

Your opportunity

We’re looking for a senior hands-on Technical Lead to design, establish and operationalise a new GitHub Enterprise Cloud environment using Enterprise Managed Users.

This is an execution-focused role where you will take ownership of the technical setup and migration. You’ll work independently to make informed technical decisions, resolve complex platform issues and deliver the uplift from initial design through to implementation, migration, validation and operational handover. 

You’ll make an impact by:

• Designing and establishing a new GitHub Enterprise Cloud environment with Enterprise Managed Users
• Integrating GitHub with identity providers including authentication, SSO, SCIM provisioning and user lifecycle management
• Configuring organisation structures, enterprise roles, team membership, repository permissions and access controls
• Implementing repository governance, rulesets, audit logging and privileged access controls
• Planning and executing trial, pilot and production migrations across organisations and repositories
• Using GitHub Enterprise Importer and other supported tools to migrate repository history and applicable metadata
• Reconfiguring GitHub Actions, secrets, variables, environments, GitHub Apps, webhooks and third-party integrations
• Designing scalable self-hosted runner infrastructure using Actions Runner Controller, runner scale sets and ephemeral runners
• Using Terraform to manage GitHub Enterprise configuration and runner infrastructure on EKS
• Troubleshooting issues across migrations, identity integration, workflow execution, job routing, scaling and network connectivity
• Producing architecture documentation, migration runbooks, technical decision records and operational handover materials
• Partnering with Cyber Security, Identity and Access Management, Cloud and Engineering teams to resolve technical dependencies
• Providing implementation, testing and control evidence for security reviews and audit requirements

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Hands-on experience setting up GitHub Enterprise Cloud with Enterprise Managed Users
• Strong knowledge of SSO, identity provider integration, SCIM provisioning and user lifecycle management
• Proven experience delivering multi-organisation GitHub Enterprise Cloud migrations
• Strong GitHub Enterprise administration, repository governance and access control experience
• Experience building secure, scalable self-hosted runner infrastructure using Actions Runner Controller and ephemeral runners
• Strong Terraform experience managing GitHub Enterprise configuration and runner infrastructure on EKS
• Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise and runner hardening aligned with ISM requirements
• Experience migrating GitHub Apps, webhooks, secrets, credentials and third-party integrations
• Strong automation and troubleshooting capability across GitHub, identity, migration and runner infrastructure
• The ability to communicate clearly with engineering, cyber security, identity, leadership and vendor stakeholders 

You’ll stand out if you have:

• Experience working within financial services or another highly regulated environment
• Familiarity with APRA CPS 234 and security assurance requirements
• Experience producing technical evidence for risk closure, security reviews and audits
• GitHub Certified Administrator certification
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification
