About this role

The Technical Project Coordinator sits at the intersection of engineering, project leadership and external stakeholders, supporting the successful delivery of ZeroAvia’s R&D programmes. Working closely with programme leaders, this role carries significant project management responsibility, including planning, reporting, risk management, stakeholder coordination and grant-funded project support. The successful candidate will build strong relationships across engineering, programme management, finance and external funding bodies. We are seeking an excellent communicator, problem-solver and team player, with the technical grounding needed to understand and support advanced hydrogen-electric aviation research. This role offers exposure to senior programme governance, cutting-edge hydrogen-electric aviation technology and externally funded R&D delivery, making it an excellent stepping stone into Programme Management.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of R&D programmes, working closely with project leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, resource forecasts, governance documentation and status reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project controls including risk management, action tracking, change control, resource utilisation and performance monitoring, driving continuous improvement where needed.
  • Coordinate grant-funded project activities, including funding body submissions, milestone reporting, evidence packs and stakeholder engagement with external agencies.
  • Support programme governance by preparing and presenting project performance updates, facilitating programme gate reviews and ensuring effective team communications.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering, testing, supply chain, finance and other stakeholder groups to identify issues, solve problems and support programme objectives.

Role Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in complex engineering project environments 
  • Familiar with project management principles, formal training qualifications desirable (i.e. Prince2) 
  • Skilled with project planning/management tools, such as Microsoft Project and JIRA. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to delve into technical and programmatic issues to solve problems 
  • Demonstrated ability to focus effort and prioritise the highest impact activities 
  • Engineering or similar technical degree-level qualification, able to grasp and comprehend technical issues and fundamentals of hydrogen systems, fuel-cell systems and advanced research, and use this knowledge to support planning and problem-solving (desirable)
