Overview

Help keep Webco’s precision tooling at its best for producing top-quality carbon steel tubing. This role combines hands-on machining, maintenance, and setup of tooling parts with high attention to detail and a commitment to safety. You’ll work with lathes, grinders, polishers, and precision measuring tools to meet tight tolerances that keep our production running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect, clean, repair, and set up tooling for weld mill equipment

  • Operate lathes, grinders, polishers, and other metal-forming equipment

  • Use micrometers, calipers, and other tools to verify tight tolerances

  • Perform daily equipment checks and maintain accurate tooling inventory

  • Safely move tooling (up to 400 lbs) using tow motors and cranes

  • Read blueprints and apply machining knowledge to meet exact specs

  • Troubleshoot and solve problems independently in a fast-paced setting

  • Collaborate with production teams to meet tooling needs and resolve issues

Physical & Work Environment

  • Stand and walk for 12-hour shifts (up to 2 miles/day) on a concrete floor

  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly; work in temperatures from 90–100°F in summer and cold in winter

  • Exposure to loud machinery and occasional dust, lubricants, and cleaning chemicals

  • PPE provided and required (hearing/eye protection, steel-toed shoes, gloves)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or tool & die preferred

  • Experience as a machinist or tool & die maker in a repair or production environment

  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools accurately

  • Strong mechanical skills, problem-solving ability, and teamwork mindset

Schedule
12-hour shifts (day or night), with schedule based on business needs.
