  • support ongoing operational tasks: Inventory, ordering, QC/Calibrator lot conversions
  • Predominantly focusing on MMA extraction and testing
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

LabCorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR.

Work Schedule: Casual/Per Diem


Job Description

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Toxicology

  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
