Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster – As part of the Under Water Training Element, you will play a key role in preparing Royal Navy personnel for operations at sea. Drawing on your expertise in SONAR systems, you will deliver engaging and practical training that develops students' understanding of underwater warfare and equips them with the skills needed to operate in a complex maritime environment.

Job Description:

🕒 Full-time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term time only basis
📍 HMS Collingwood, Portsmouth

🔐 Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

  • Deliver engaging training in underwater warfare and SONAR systems to Royal Navy personnel. SONAR 2087, 2050, LOFAR
  • Share your technical knowledge and operational experience to help develop the next generation of warfare specialists.
  • Support students throughout their learning journey, helping them build confidence, capability and professional competence.
  • Work alongside experienced instructors and learning specialists to continually improve training delivery.
  • Maintain and develop your own skills through ongoing professional development and Defence training programmes.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Royal Navy training by identifying improvements, sharing best practice and helping shape future learning solutions.

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata’d and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
