Why we're hiring:
WPP is on a global transformation journey, and this is an opportunity to join and take the lead on the newly established Group Treasury shared service center (SSC).
What you'll be doing:
As a Treasury Systems Lead within our Treasury Technology Support team, you will support the day-to-day operation, enhancement, and control of our Treasury Management System, with a primary focus on ION Treasury / IT2.
You will work closely with Treasury, Finance, IT, vendors, banks, and other global stakeholders to support BAU activities, system changes, issue resolution, testing, documentation, and project delivery. The role is primarily systems-focused, but a good understanding of treasury processes will help you translate business needs into practical system solutions.
You will help ensure that Treasury systems remain stable, well-controlled, and aligned to business requirements, while escalating complex issues to the appropriate internal teams, vendors, or third-party providers where required.
This role will report to the Manager – Treasury Systems / Treasury Systems Manager.
- Support the configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and day-to-day operation of Treasury Management System functionality, primarily ION IT2.
- Assist with BAU Treasury Systems activities including user access, static data maintenance, account setup, party setup, user group changes, system validations, and ongoing user support.
- Support Treasury system projects, upgrades, enhancements, automation initiatives, process improvements, and post-implementation activities.
- Work with Treasury, Finance, IT, banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into practical system changes, and coordinate timely issue resolution.
- Assist with incidents, service requests, change requests, problem resolution, and troubleshooting across Treasury systems, interfaces, reports, payments, connectivity, configuration, logs, and user inputs.
- Support integration and connectivity activities involving ERP systems, banking platforms, file transfers, reporting tools, third-party systems, SWIFT, host-to-host, payment files, and related system processes.
- Support testing activities including UAT, regression testing, smoke testing, production validation, system upgrade testing, and post-go-live checks.
- Prepare and maintain functional specifications, test evidence, process documentation, SOPs, runbooks, user guidance materials, and training/knowledge-sharing content.
- Support system controls, access reviews, audit evidence preparation, segregation of duties, SOX/control-related activities, and identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, or automate Treasury system processes.
What you'll need:
- 5–8 years of experience in Treasury Systems, corporate treasury operations, financial systems support, banking systems, finance technology, or a related systems/business support role.
- Good working knowledge of Treasury Management Systems, preferably ION IT2; exposure to Kyriba, SAP TRM, Oracle Treasury, FIS, or other TMS platforms would be an advantage.
- Experience supporting system configuration, master data, user access, workflows, interfaces, reports, system administration, enhancements, testing, change requests, production support, and process improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with ION IT2 configuration, static data, user groups, accounts, parties, payments, reports, interfaces, and related Treasury system support activities would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of Treasury processes, payments, bank statement processing, SWIFT messages, payment files, confirmations, payment generation, bank connectivity, host-to-host, SFTP/FTP, XML, MT formats, CAMT, and related financial messaging concepts.
- Good understanding of finance controls, SOX, audit requirements, audit evidence, access management, segregation of duties, compliance requirements, change management, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Planning.
- Strong analytical, logical problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to review data/configuration, identify root causes, suggest practical solutions, and work with vendors or managed service providers for issue resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple BAU and project activities, prioritise effectively, work to agreed timelines, and collaborate with Treasury, Finance, IT, vendors, banks, business users, and other stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare SOPs, test scripts, issue logs, change notes, user guides, support materials, training content, and guide junior team members or users where required.
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, ServiceNow, JIRA, file transfer/API concepts, deployment, automation, monitoring tools, and Treasury transformation, migration, or system enhancement projects would be an advantage.
