What you'll do
- Operates ultrasound scanning equipment to produce records of designated portions of the human anatomy of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

- Certified or eligible for certification by: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S). OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- All sonographers must obtain certification within one year of hire date or cross training.)
- Certified in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practices
- Requirements for Vascular Technologists: ARDMS certification in vascular technology RVT, ARRT certification in vascular technology RT (VS), CCI certification in vascular technology RVS
- Requirements for Sonographer or Mammography Technologist – Breast Ultrasound: ARDMS certification and current registration, or ARRT post-primary certification and current registration in breast sonography, or ARRT certification and current registration and MQSA qualified
- AND 5 CEUs specific to breast ultrasound
- Continuing Experience: Regular performance of breast ultrasound exams
- Continuing Education: Registered Technologists: In compliance with the CE requirements of their certifying organization for the imaging modality in which they perform services
- CE includes credits pertinent to the technologist’s ACR accredited clinical practice

- Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology
- Prior experience in ultrasound

Requirements for Ultrasound Technologists
Initial Qualifications
- Certified or eligible for certification by:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS),
OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S).
