Job Description

Ultrasound Techs are responsible for the following:

  • Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete and accurate history relevant to the examination to be performed.
  • Independently performs clinical diagnostic examinations including any necessary room preparation.
  • Provides basic patient care as needed by any patient.
  • Produces permanent records of diagnostic examinations.

Under the supervision of a Radiologist, Ultrasound Techs will operate ultrasound imaging equipment in order to produce images of the body for diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of a formal training program.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of post registry preferred
  • RDMS (ARDMS) certification

This position may be eligible for conversion to a Trainee role, subject to the team’s capacity and availability of resources to support cross-training. Trainee opportunities are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Individuals accepted into a Trainee role must sign an on-the-job training agreement. All required certifications must be obtained in accordance with the department’s training program requirements; failure to meet these requirements may result in termination.

Salary Range

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
