What you'll do

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures on trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and exhaust systems, using diagnostic tools and computer-based equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and DOT compliance checks to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Repair or replace defective components such as starters, alternators, fuel systems, cooling systems, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage, and vehicle service histories in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Respond to emergency service calls and breakdowns, providing timely troubleshooting and repairs to minimize vehicle downtime
  • Collaborate with fleet supervisors and operations teams to prioritize work assignments and ensure efficient turnaround times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to OSHA standards and JLL safety protocols

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in truck repair and maintenance, including diesel and gasoline engines
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications in relevant areas such as Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Diesel Engines, or Medium/Heavy Truck preferred
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, computer-based diagnostic systems, and standard shop equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, reaching, and crawling under vehicles

  • Technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or a related field
  • Experience with fleet management systems or CMMS software such as Maximo or Fleet Pro
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspection standards
  • Familiarity with hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed

What this job involves:

JLL is seeking a skilled Truck Repair Technician to join our Facilities and Fleet Operations team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a diverse fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting JLL's mission to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

What your day-to-day will look like:
