What you’ll be working on as a Senior MES Consultant
As a senior MES Engineer specializing in Siemens Opcenter Execution at Capgemini, you will work on transforming production environments into smart factories. Being highly rewarding work, you will have to chance to:
- Make career impact: Work on Large scale MES Core Model Roll out & Traceability Upgrades in international leading companies in Pharma and F&B.
- Innovate highly regulated industries: Drive digital transformation in pharma projects, moving from paper to Electronic Batch Record (eBR) & MES Modernization for production to advance speed, quality, and compliance demands of modern Life Sciences manufacturing.
- Make sustainability real: Launch new sustainable product lines in the chemical industry with modern MES to support batch production, compliance, and end to end data capturing — from raw materials to finished goods.
Your responsibilities will include:
- You will typically support the automation team in the design and integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) that enable real-time data processing, automation, and operational excellence.
- Designing interfaces between MES and ERP systems to improve data flow and operational coordination.
- Ensure compliance with best practices for MES development and integration, to meet project and industry requirements.
- Developing manufacturing recipes following ISA95 standards to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate project requirements and develop IT documentation for MES systems.
Your profile
You are thriving in dynamic engineering environments and are naturally curious about automation in (highly regulated) industries. Ideally, you possess a proactive, result-driven mindset and demonstrates resilience under pressure, especially during the critical phases of complex manufacturing projects.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Proven hands-on experience in MES, Historian systems, and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM).
- A strong understanding of batch processes and data integration.
- Experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution modeling is essential, experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
- Strong communication skills with excellent teamwork abilities to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and understand client needs.
- The capability to guide and mentor the technical team in design, coding, integration, configuration, deployment, and best practices.

- A gross salary between €4.500 and €5.600 per month, plus a mobility allowance of €850 and 8% holiday allowance (based on a 40-hour workweek).

Your work environment
With over 200 colleagues, our Manufacturing & Industrial Operations department offers significant and meaningful contributions to various organisations in The Netherlands and occasionally abroad. Our people have expertise in offering partnerships and solutions around industrial automation, smart factory, and data science. Our projects vary tremendously, from upgrading automation systems for a vaccin production line, designing smart sensors based on IoT and cloud technology to reduce food waste, to developing predictive models to optimize warehouse logistics. And sometimes you are working as technical coordinator in large project teams of over 50 colleagues, and at other times you are working on a solution with only two or three other colleagues. This makes our work highly unpredictable in scope, project duration and commuting time. Yet also incredibly rewarding in terms of learning and growth opportunities.
